The Best Things in Life are Free

| December 9, 2009

We received this beautiful card last night from Reader B… that really touched us and really made us think about counting our blessings.

The Best Things in Life are Free

When we count our many blessings,
it isn’t hard to see.

That life’s most valued treasures
are the treasures that are free.

For it isn’t what we own or buy
that signifies our wealth.

It’s the special gifts
that have no price-
our family, friends and health.

Questions from Workshop

| December 8, 2009

We had two questions for Frugal Fairhope from readers that attended the Coupon Workshop at the Fairhope Publix Library last week. We keep a bag for any questions someone may have before, during, or after the coupon workshop. We will feature all questions here on FrugalFairhope.com.

At another class you said you like Rite Aid, Why?

Rite Aid has a great rebate program, that is about as automated as it gets. Enter only 4 items from your receipt (date, store number, transaction number, register number) on line and wait until the end of the month. You don’t have to send in your receipts and you don’t have to request your check. A check comes in the mail automatically at the end of the rebate period. It couldn’t get any easier, unless they shopped for you.

Combine the freebies with rebates with coupons for those products, along with the $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupons and you have got a money makers. Here is our last Rite Aid money maker deal. Notice in this deal the following

Crest with Scope $2.69
-$1 coupons 11/1 P&G
-$2.69 Rebate
Final Price: Free plus money maker of $1

We will get a check in the mail at the end of the month for $2.69.  They will not deduct the coupon from the rebate check.

Now you can even order rebate items on line, have the items delivered to your home and qualify for rebates.

When Winn-Dixie does a meal deal (like this week with the lasagna for $13.99 & 4 more products for free) can you use coupons for the free items?

We did this deal at the Fairhope Winn-Dixie and they took our coupons for the free items as well as for the lasagna.  We have heard that other stores are not allowing coupons on the free items. So this will vary from store to store.

Do you have a question for Frugal Fairhope that you would like answered? Send your questions to Frances at Frugal Fairhope dot com. Remember what Mamo says, “the only stupid question is one that is not asked”.

$.52 this includes the tax!

And they wouldn’t take my sponge coupon.

img_8157

We used $6 in Walgreens Register Rewards (RRs) and a $5 off $25 in the same transaction. If you did this same deal it would cost you $5.52 (removing the RRs)

Here is the breakdown:
Mr Coffee Maker $9.99
Sunbeam Toaster $9.99

-Used 2 $5 appliance coupons Publix Winter Family Savings
5 Hot Wheels $.99
-Used 5 $1 toy under $19.99 coupon Publix Winter Family Savings
Scotch Brite Sponge $1.29
-Would have used $1 coupon Publix Winter Family Savings

-$5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon

Total $5.23

This is the total you would pay, we used $6 in Walgreens Register Rewards to get our total down to $.52.

Never Forget Our Bag Card Again

| December 3, 2009

We keep our two CVS Green Bag Tags in our wallet next to our CVS cards.  Well we got a little tired of that so we decided to…
