Frances Frugal Fairhope Tip: $6.01 Rite Aid Money Maker

| January 31, 2010

img_8584

We made this purchase at the Fairhope Rite Aid this afternoon and not only got it for free but we made $6.01.  “Working” Rite Aid deals are the easiest thing, their rebate system is top notch in our humble opinion. No mailing in forms, receipts, UPC codes, addressing envelopes, or remembering to mail or request your rebate, it really is very simple. Here are the items we purchased from the Rite Aid 1/31 Deals:

Deal Idea
Blink Tears $7.99
Colgate Total $2.99
3 Aero TM 3 Insoles $5 each

-Use $5 off $25 printable
-Use $1 Colgate Total coupon
-Use 3 $2 Aero printable
Out of Pocket: $13.98

Receive the following rebates at the end of the month:

Blink Tears $7.99
Colgate Total $2
Aero TM 3 Insoles $10 WYB 3
Total Rebates: $19.99

Final Price: Free plus $6.01 money maker

Once you have set up Rite Aid Single Check Rebate (SCR) account you can qualify for the rebates. Here is the link to get started. This form is very simple, name address, create user name and password. Once you have set up your user name and password you can access your rebate account and start entering in receipts for your purchase. You can only set up one Rite Aid rebate account per address.

Once you have made your purchase, you only need 4 things from your receipt to qualify for a Single Check Rebate:

  1. Store Number
  2. Register Number
  3. Transaction Code
  4. Date of Transaction

howitworks_step2

All this information is at the very top of your receipt. After you have entered your receipt, forget about it… You don’t have to do anything else, just sit back and they will send you a confirmation that your receipt has been received, they will send you an email that let’s you know that you have qualified for a rebate, then at the end of the rebate period they will send you an email letting you know that a check has been issued and sent to your home. The rebate comes in form of a check that can be cashed at any bank.

You will find the Rite Aid deals every week on Frugal Fairhope, which start on Sunday and end on Saturday. We list our Rite Aid deals as follows:

Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste 4oz $2.99
-$2 SCR #3
-$1 coupon 1/13 SS
-$1 February All You
Final Price: Free – $.50

When you see “-$2 SCR #3″ this tells you that there is a Single Check Rebate for $2 and the number of the rebate is 3. If you went to the Rite Aid Single Check Rebate site and clicked on Rebate List and entered “3″ into the Description field you would find that Single Check Rebate #3 is for the Colgate Toothpaste rebate of $2. You could also enter “Colgate” and it will give you three rebates that involve a Colgate purchase.
Each rebate description will give you the following information:

  • February 2010 = Month of rebate
  • Rebate #3 = Rebate Number
  • Valid from 01/24/10 to 02/27/10 = Time Frame of Offer (Rebate Period)
  • $2.00 Rebate = Value of the Rebate
Colgate Toothpaste = What the Rebate is for
  • Purchase One (1):  Total Advanced or Total Enamel Strength, 4 oz. = How to Qualify
  • LIMIT ONE (1) $2.00 REBATE = Other limitations on the rebate

As mentioned above with the purchase of Colgate you could qualify for up to two rebates with a single purchase. The single tube of Colgate 4.0 oz could qualify for two rebates, if those rebate terms were met through the rebate period. We have already qualified for SCR #3 and our purchase counts as qualifying for SCR #552. SCR # 552 is for a $10 Rite Aid Gift Card WYB $25 in qualifying items. The Colgate value of $2.99 for our purchase above is deducted from the $25. If we purchase another $22.01 in any of the other products listed in SCR #64 (before 3/27/10) we would get a $10 Rite Aid Gift Card at the end of the rebate period. Frugal Fairhope calls this Stacking Rebates.  Stacking rebates means you qualify for more than one rebate with the purchase of one item. The full $2.99 value of the item purchased is before coupons. So even though we used a $1 coupon to purchase the Colgate, the rebate does not consider the coupon.

Someone Name This Post

| January 29, 2010

img_8565

There were several titles that went through our mind when we were thinking about publishing this post.

  • Huggies Store to Store Stacking
  • Sometimes Less Is More
  • $1.12 Each!

Who cares right? As long as we get you the information, so here it is.

Walgreen’s has released the Coupon Flyer, you can find a picture and details about it here. The excitement is the stacking of the $1 Huggies Wipes Walgreen’s coupon, the $.75 manufacture coupon, combining this with the $5 Register Reward deal for this week when you buy $25 in Huggies products and the $10 Publix gift card rebate.

Buy 10 Huggies Wipes Tubs $2.50
-$1 Walgreen’s Huggies coupon from the store flyer (only need one it will take $10 off)
-Use 10 $.75 coupon 1/17 SS = -$7.50
-Receive $5 RR WYB $25
Final Price: $.25 each

Of course, Frugal Fairhope is not going to stop there, we headed over to Publix where sometimes less is more…

Publix has the Huggies Box Diapers $19.99 as a normal pricing, what is exciting is there is a $3 store coupon in the circular. Still not exciting enough for you? Well how about this..
Huggies Box $19.99
Huggies Jumbo Pack $10.99
-$3 Publix coupon from store circular
-Use 2 $1 coupon 1/17 SS (manufacture if you have the $1.50 coupon this deal gets better)
-$5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon
-$5 Register Reward from the above wipe deal
-Receive $10 rebate from the Kimberly-Clark and Unilever The little book of big buys WYB $30
Final Price: $5.98 or $2.99 each

Let’s put this all together

1st Transaction Walgreens
Buy 10 Huggies Wipes Tubs $2.50
-$1 Walgreen’s Huggies Coupon from the In Store Flyer (only need one it will take $10 off)
-Use 10 $.75 coupon 1/17 SS = – $7.50

-Receive $5 RR WYB $25

2nd Transaction Publix
Huggies Box $19.99
Huggies Jumbo Pack $10.99
-$3 Publix coupon from store circular
-Use 2 $1 coupon 1/17 SS = -$2
-$5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon
-$5 Register Reward from the above wipe deal
-Receive $10 rebate from the Kimberly-Clark and Unilever The little book of big buys WYB $30

Final Price for 10 tubs of wipes, Huggies box and jumbo pack of diapers: $13.48 or $1.12 each!

Now the reason we say sometimes less is more, because it is tempting to get the two boxes of diapers for $19.99 each, but that would put you at $39.98 and you would pay more. Here is the breakdown with the two boxes of diapers.

2 Huggies Box $19.99
-Use 2 $3 Publix coupon from store circular = -$6
-Use 2 $1 coupon 1/17 SS = -$2
-$5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon
-$5 Register Reward from the above wipe deal
-Receive $10 rebate from the Kimberly-Clark and Unilever The little book of big buys WYB $30

Final Price: $11.98 for two boxes of diapers

Send us your thoughts on a name for this post, who knows what you will get if we like it.

Oh Mailbox Part II

| January 26, 2010

img_8525

PART I (for those of you who missed it back in June)

Oh, sweet mailbox, you bring me such wonderful things

Free coupons and samples you even bring me bling

Swiffer Master Card can’t be beat

second in line is the free subscription to BusinessWeek

Can it be true; you have brought me another

subscription to Working Mother

The abuse you take with the storms and sprinkles

today you brought me a sample for my wrinkles

You never complain even though you are worn out and looking bleak

you look like someone has dragged you down the street.

PART II

Oh, sweet mailbox, how good you are to me

you bring me giveaways and lots of things for readers to see

Our mail lady is probably exhausted from all this stuff

but she gently folds the magazines and hasn’t yelled “enough”!

If you are enjoing this mailbox poem you will have to admit

maybe, just maybe, you are “getting it“.

For the joy of waiting for the mail is a lot more than most can see,

for waiting and finding all the happyscan be addicting.

Free Bic Razors

| January 15, 2010

We have updated the Walgreen’s 1/10 deals with a new $2 printable coupon which will give you the opportunity to purchase Bic razors for free!

2 Bic Disposable Razors $5
-B1G1 coupon 1/10 SS
-$2 printable (IE) printable (FF)
-$3/2 Walgreen’s January Coupon Booklet
Final Price: Free

The Walgreen’s January Coupon Booklet is located near the circulars at the front of the store. The Bic razors are on sale for $10/5, so we see the deal this way:

2 Bic Disposable Razors $5 = $10
-B1G1 coupon 1/10 SS
-$2 printable (IE) printable (FF)
-$3/2 Walgreen’s January Coupon Booklet
Final Price: Free

There are a few things you need to know about doing this, use the B1G1 coupon first before any of the others. Then use the manufacture coupons and finally the Walgreen’s coupon.

While we were shopping in Walgreen’s yesterday we had a conversation with one of the store managers about register rewards. Let the cashier know if you are going to pay with register rewards. The Walgreen’s registers consider the RRs as manufacture coupons so they need to put those in first before store coupons. This will save both of you some time.
