Around the town with Frugal Fairhope 9/18
Our first stop in PetSmart was to find the manager to get approval for 10 bags in one transaction. We absolutely adore the PetSmart at Malbis they are nice, fully stocked inventory, and they don’t have a problem with the use of coupons (they encourage it). The $5 Authority coupon does not limit the customer but does have a limit of one per transaction; do 10 transactions? Nope, the manager said that it was fine and she was happy to see me come into the store from Fairhope.

In normal Frugal Fairhope fashion we left plenty on the shelf, bags, cans and the free coupons. We decided not to wait on this deal for the 15% off coupon (we talked about yesterday), we may go back for another round on the 22nd. It has been our experience to stockpile cat or dog food when we, the deals are very hard to find.
Remember not to use the Facebook coupon, it has a minimum of 8lb bag, you want the 4lb for this deal.
We found the Toy Story 3 Operation game in good stock at the Fairhope Walmart store this morning. According to Walmart’s coupon policy you do not have to have the ad in your hands to get the price match. The Fairhope store keeps a binder of store circulars at the end of the middle isle. The discount was so large the cashier had to pull the binder. Should have seen the cashier’s eyes and then looking at her watch to see how long until her break.

We also found that the Fairhope Walmart store has started stocking the 1lb boxes of Purina One Beyond for $2.57. We personally don’t like getting cash (overage) out of the register so we purchased the Whisker Lickin’s cat treats to take the overage and to add to our cat food stockpile. As we have mentioned before we mix in the treats with the cat food.

We have been thinking about this for a while and have done a little research but we have not been able to find a homemade pet food recipe that doesn’t involve buying expensive ingredients. This would be a great alternative to buying and storing bags and cans of cat and dog food.

How can you use Target coupons at Walmart….is that allowed at all walmarts?

According to the Walmart coupon policy ALL Walmart stores will take competitor coupons (see the quote). You should be able to do exactly as we have done.
Make sure you take a copy of the policy with you and don’t be afraid to go up the management level until you find someone who knows what they are doing. It took two for us this morning but we were not going to back down (what you do today affects all of us tomorrow).

was at malbis pet smart this evening to do authority cat food deal. the manager limited me to two coupons. the manager told me that after you were in yesterday ( i am assuming she meant you, or someone else who was in yesterday and bought ten), she checked the website and saw something that made her think there was a limit of two. i think she was referring to the two print limit. just wanted to give a heads up in case others were planning to do the deal. thanks for letting us know of the deal though! two is better than none!

I went to try my luck again at the Fairhope walmart today and once again I got disappointed.
I was excited to go get the Operation Game to use as gifts and when I got to the cashier and told her it was a price match; she immediately asked if I had my ad in hand and when I told her no and about the new match policy she said she knows but she stil needs the ad to make sure its the right product. so i didn’t get my game. I think I probably keep getting the wrong cashiers.But I did get the purina one beyond cat food! That’s a plus.

I was there as well before lunch and there were no Operations to be found?
You should keep a copy of the policy to show the cashier and call the manager over if the cashier demands the ad. The Fairhope middle aisle (the aisle that sells the cancer sticks) has ALL the current ads around town in a black binder on the shelf. Any cashier can pull this binder. Our cashier pulled the Big Lots ad from this binder on the 18th.
In this case, I would call the store manager and tell them what happened. The problem you will have now is they won’t have the inventory until the ad at Big Lots runs out then you will not be able to get the deal. But if the store manager approves you can get the game after they have restocked and the ad is over. If you see these cashiers again tell them about the black binder.

double check clearance toy aisle. i found travel battleship and connect four on clearance for $4 each. free after the hasbro coupons. there were still travel battleship games left in daphne early this evening. but i think i may have bought the last travel connect four. maybe fairhope has more?
