Rite Aid Single Check Rebate (SCR)

| March 24, 2011

Rite Aid has a rebate program called SCR, Rite Aid Single Check Rebate.  This rebate program gives you a rebate for purchases made at Rite Aid. A check is mailed to directly to your home. Similar to the Staples rebate program this is an electronic rebate system so you don’t have to mail in your receipts.

The value of the rebate does not change because you used a coupon in your transaction. Using a coupon to pay for an item that gives you a 100% rebate at the end of the month will result in a money maker.

Once you have set up Rite Aid Single Check Rebate (SCR) account you can qualify for the rebates. Here is the link to get started to create your account. This form is very simple, name address, create user name and password. Once you have set up your user name and password you can access your rebate account and start entering receipts for your purchases. You can only set up one Rite Aid rebate account per household address.

Once you have made your purchase, you only need 4 things from your receipt to qualify for a Single Check Rebate:

  1. Store Number
  2. Register Number
  3. Transaction Code
  4. Date of Transaction

howitworks_step2

All this information is at the very top of your receipt. After you have entered your receipt, forget about it… You don’t have to do anything else, just sit back and they will send you a confirmation that your receipt has been received, they will send you an email that let’s you know that you have qualified for a rebate, then at the end of the rebate period they will send you an email letting you know that a check has been issued and sent to your home. The rebate comes in form of a check that can be cashed at any bank. An important thing to remember is that you can only request one rebate check per month. We seriously sit back and let Rite Aid issue the checks at the end of the month and not request the check early.

You will find the Rite Aid deals posted on Frugal Fairhope every week, which start on Sunday and end on Saturday. We list our Rite Aid deals as follows:

Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste 4oz $2.99
-$2 SCR #3
-$1 coupon 1/13 SS
-$1 February All You
Final Price: Free – $.50

Using the example above the “-$2 SCR #3″ this tells you that there is a Single Check Rebate for $2 and the number of the rebate is 3. If you went to the Rite Aid Single Check Rebate site and clicked on Rebate List and entered “3″ into the Description field you would find that Single Check Rebate #3 is for the Colgate Toothpaste rebate of $2. You could also enter “Colgate” and it will give you three rebates that involve a Colgate purchase.
Each rebate description will give you the following information:

  • February 2010 = Month of rebate
  • Rebate #3 = Rebate Number
  • Valid from 01/24/10 to 02/27/10 = Time Frame of Offer (Rebate Period)
  • $2.00 Rebate = Value of the Rebate
Colgate Toothpaste = What the Rebate is for
  • Purchase One (1): Total Advanced or Total Enamel Strength, 4 oz. = How to Qualify
  • LIMIT ONE (1) $2.00 REBATE = Other limitations on the rebate

Sometimes you could qualify for more than one rebate with a single purchase. The single tube of Colgate 4.0 oz could qualify for two rebates, if those rebate terms were met through the rebate period. For example you could receive a rebate for the purchase of the tube of Colgate but there could be an additional Rite Aid rebate WYB $20 in oral care in which the Colgate would qualify.  We call this Stacking Rebates. Stacking rebates means you qualify for more than one rebate with the purchase of one item.

It Happens To the Best of Us

| September 16, 2010

We visited an out of our way Rite Aid today on our way to an appointment (our first mistake) to check for the Uncle Ben’s.

Here is what we purchased:

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $3.11 (after 40% off)
-Used $1 printable
Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons 18pk $4
-Used $2 printable
2 Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice 8.5-8.8oz $4/2
-Used 2 $.75/2 printable
-Used $.30 Rite Aid Video Values (could only use one)
2 Mucinex Products $22/2
-Used 2 $2 manufacture coupons from Betsie
-Used $1.50 Rite Aid Video Values (could only use one)

-Used $5 off $25 Rite Aid coupon
-Used $3 +UP Playtex Reward from previous purchase
-Used -$2 +UP Reach Rewards from previous purchase

Final Price: $1.56 (used gift card from previous deals)

-Received $1 +UP Reward Maybelline
-Received $1 +UP Reward WYB 2 Uncle Ben’s

Lesson One: Rite Aid Video coupons can only be used once, Rite Aid tracks this from the use of the Wellness card. We were only able to use one Uncle Ben & Mucinex Rite Aid Video Value coupon.

Lesson Two: Some +UP Rewards have a limit. We received 2 $3 Playtex +UP Rewards earlier in the week for two transactions, but did not receive it on this transaction, again tied to the Wellness card.

Our total came to $23 instead of $25+ when we handed over the $5 off $25 coupon. The cashier went ahead and took it! Our second mistake was not recognizing that we should have been way over the $25 (refer to first mistake).

Lesson Three: Cashiers can adjust computers to do what ever they want to do, don’t let them tell you different. We want an Frugal Fairhope Override Button similar to the Staples Easy Button; we will get our team right on it, to be available before Christmas. :-D

The cashier left out the 2nd Mucinex and we didn’t notice this until we were down the road (refer to first mistake)! After our appointment, we stopped in another Rite Aid store to pay for the Mucinex.

Lesson Four: You can correct any errors on your side or theirs at any store. Easier if you go to the same store, but it can be done. We were not going to let the sun go down with this mistake.

After explaining the situation to the cashier and manager,we determined the best action was to refund the one Mucinex and purchase the two. No coupons were used because honestly they were all taken off at the other store and we didn’t feel it was right. We did use our $2 +UP Rewards from Mabelline & Uncle Bens to pay for the Mucinex, not sure if that was the right thing to do now that we are thinking about it? We would have used our 2nd $3 +UP Playtex reward but the 1st transaction would not allow it (total lower than value of +UP Reward).

So here is how we ended up

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $3.11
Playtex Gentle Glide Tampons 18pk $4
2 Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice 8.5-8.8oz $4/2
2 Mucinex Products $22/2

Out of Pocket (both transactions): $10.56 (used gift card from previous deals)

-Received $7 +UP Rewards WYB 2

Final Price: $3.56

We are $.67 from qualifying for the free Glam Camp Bag.

Hope this helps you learn from our mistakes, it happens to the best of us. In the mean time, we probably need to go to another Free Frugal Fairhope Workshop where maybe it will sink in to check your receipt before leaving the store. “-D

$.01 Happy

| February 23, 2010

img_8659

We can not wait to surprise a friend with this Happy. The best part of this is the appreciation our friend will have not only to receive the Happy but that we only paid one red penny for it (not including tax of course). She is a “coupon lady” as well.

Here is the deal from Rite Aid:
NYC Mascara $3.99 B1G1 $.01
-B1G1 March All You
Final Price: $.01

For those of you who are new to Frugal Fairhope and don’t have a clue what a  “Happy” could be, keep reading.

If you get anything out of Frugal Fairhope we hope that it is not just to get the best deals but to give back to your community. The smallest thing could mean a lot to one person.

“You Can’t Help Everyone Everywhere, But You Can Help Someone Somewhere”. ~Felipe, Biggest Looser

This statement sums up the entire purpose of why we started Frugal Fairhope.

We want to help as many people as we can.

“Rough economic times” or not we are here to make an impact on someone’s life.

Post by post, coupon by coupon, freebie by freebie…saving that $.50 to getting a smile on your face or when you open the mailbox and find something there besides bills. A “Happy” (gift) as my 99 year old great grandmother Mamo use to put it. She loved getting a “Happy”. She was such a caring person that she wanted to re-gift the “Happy” and give it back to the original person or to someone new. It was almost like she wanted to share the happiness with everyone.

Frugal Fairhope is our “Happy” to you and we hope that you will share it with everyone you meet.

Frances Frugal Fairhope Tip: $6.01 Rite Aid Money Maker

| January 31, 2010

img_8584

We made this purchase at the Fairhope Rite Aid this afternoon and not only got it for free but we made $6.01.  “Working” Rite Aid deals are the easiest thing, their rebate system is top notch in our humble opinion. No mailing in forms, receipts, UPC codes, addressing envelopes, or remembering to mail or request your rebate, it really is very simple. Here are the items we purchased from the Rite Aid 1/31 Deals:

Deal Idea
Blink Tears $7.99
Colgate Total $2.99
3 Aero TM 3 Insoles $5 each

-Use $5 off $25 printable
-Use $1 Colgate Total coupon
-Use 3 $2 Aero printable
Out of Pocket: $13.98

Receive the following rebates at the end of the month:

Blink Tears $7.99
Colgate Total $2
Aero TM 3 Insoles $10 WYB 3
Total Rebates: $19.99

Final Price: Free plus $6.01 money maker

Once you have set up Rite Aid Single Check Rebate (SCR) account you can qualify for the rebates. Here is the link to get started. This form is very simple, name address, create user name and password. Once you have set up your user name and password you can access your rebate account and start entering in receipts for your purchase. You can only set up one Rite Aid rebate account per address.

You will find the Rite Aid deals every week on Frugal Fairhope, which start on Sunday and end on Saturday. We list our Rite Aid deals as follows:

Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste 4oz $2.99
-$2 SCR #3
-$1 coupon 1/13 SS
-$1 February All You
Final Price: Free – $.50

When you see “-$2 SCR #3″ this tells you that there is a Single Check Rebate for $2 and the number of the rebate is 3.

As mentioned above with the purchase of Colgate you could qualify for up to two rebates with a single purchase. The single tube of Colgate 4.0 oz could qualify for two rebates, if those rebate terms were met through the rebate period. We have already qualified for SCR #3 and our purchase counts as qualifying for SCR #552. SCR # 552 is for a $10 Rite Aid Gift Card WYB $25 in qualifying items. The Colgate value of $2.99 for our purchase above is deducted from the $25. If we purchase another $22.01 in any of the other products listed in SCR #64 (before 3/27/10) we would get a $10 Rite Aid Gift Card at the end of the rebate period. Frugal Fairhope calls this Stacking Rebates.  Stacking rebates means you qualify for more than one rebate with the purchase of one item. The full $2.99 value of the item purchased is before coupons. So even though we used a $1 coupon to purchase the Colgate, the rebate does not consider the coupon.

Sometimes we run into problems

| April 29, 2009

img_6346

This is our trip to Rite Aid this week. We ran into The We Can’t Take Internet Coupons issue at the Daphne store. We must have jinked ourselves by writing about this yesterday.

The Daphne Rite Aid clerk questioned our internet coupons. The Daphne Rite Aid has in the past taken our internet coupons while the Fairhope store has been hit and miss on taking them. The last trip was a hit, the store manager physically took the coupons (see comment from Rite Aid post). This time the Daphne clerk said “we can’t accept them unless they have a Rite Aid logo on the coupon”. We just smiled and said “Is this a new policy at this store?” She said “you know what I am not sure, let me check with the manager”. We said “OK, we don’t want to get you in trouble”.  Few minutes later she said the manager would take them.

Success!!!  Smiling and being nice does it almost every time. :-D

We were prepared to buy the products for a fraction of the cost without the internet coupons (see below). Here are the details of what we bought with the internet coupons.

MiniDrops Eye Therapy 30ct $6.49
-$1 off MiniDrops printable
SaltAire Sinus & Allergy Relief 1ct $6.99
-$1 off Saltaire printable
Skintimate Shave Cream 6oz $2.99

Electrasol/Finish Quantum Tabs 12ct $4.49
-$2.50 coupon 4/19 SS We didn’t have this coupon, shocking we know. :-)
Listerine Mouthwash $4 (bought 2)
Note: The fresh burst came with a free bottle of Listerine Tooth Defense-$4/2 Listerine in ad store coupon
-$4/2 store coupon
-$.50 printable (used 2)

-$5 off $25 Rite Aid printable

Total of Products: $28.96

Out of Pocket: $16.21 (not including tax)
Rebates:$17.72
Total cost after rebates: Money Maker of $1.51 (not including tax)

  • $6.49 SCR #30 (limit 1)
  • $6.99 SCR #33 (limit 1)
  • $2.24 SCR #96 (limit 1)
  • $2 SCR #114

If we buy 2 more bottles of Listerine before the end of May we will qualify for  $5 SRC #50.

Just for grins and giggles, let’s say that you did not pick up last Sunday’s paper and the store would not take the internet coupons only the Rite Aid coupons. Here is the cost for purchasing the same products.

MiniDrops Eye Therapy 30ct $6.49
SaltAire Sinus & Allergy Relief 1ct $6.99
Skintimate Shave Cream 6oz $2.99
Electrasol/Finish Quantum Tabs 12ct $4.49
Listerine Mouthwash $4 (buy 2)

-$4/2 Rite Aid coupon
-$5 off $25 Rite Aid printable

Total of Products: $28.96

Out of Pocket Charged to the Debit Card: $19.96 (not including tax)
Rebates:$17.72

Total cost: $2.24 (before tax)

See we can do this with or without coupons, better if you have coupons but you get the idea. :-D
