We are about to embark on a major construction project that is going to involve many trips and money to Ace, Lowes and Home Depot. We do most if not all the work ourselves but materials can get expensive and every dime counts. In order to offset that cost we are looking at cashing in points for gift cards, taking advantage of points and offers online, and coupons.
Do you remember all those reminder emails in the past years about check your MyPoints, RecycleBank, Swagbucks, Plastic Jungle accounts for points or buy your gift cards?
This is probably the hardest lesson for a newbie to learn in the beginning but it is a major part of saving money and that is building. One “brick” at a time you print coupons, take advantage of offers, and build points, saving them and then cashing them in when there is a sale or a need.
Take advantage of our “reminder emails” that we send out and take that few minutes to get the offer while it is still available.
If you haven’t guessed we stay pretty busy and we get a lot of questions of how we get so many things done. Here is a tip that will save us and you hours of time: Home Depot and Lowes offer online ordering with free in store pick up (Lowes guaranteed in 20 minutes) which we plan to use not only to save money but also tons of time. Ordering what we need online, they will pull the order and have it available for us at the door. While some things we have to go in but the majority can be waiting for us at the door. How many hours have you wasted shopping in these stores trying to find what you need?
