The best way to use this post is to bring up Frugal Fairhope.com on your phone (print using the green icon at the bottom of this post if you don’t have internet on your phone) and price match at the register. Thanks Reader R… for sending us a Walmart deal. See below that Reader R… did not use a coupon for the tissue paper but used the overage from the Nicorette Gum to “create” a coupon.

If this is a shock to you (especially if you are an employee of Walmart) please take the time to read and print (for your binder) the coupon policy for Walmart. There is a lot of confusion over this but this part of the policy is very clear:

If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.

There is no “75% rule”; no “we can give you money out of the register rule”; we have heard it ourselves and from other readers. Walmart CAN and WILL give you money out of the register or apply the overage to the rest of your groceries.

If you get this or other “reasons” please ask for a manager, if a manager is not available walk away and call when you get home. Call the store manager and if they disagree then contact the corporate office and complain that particular store is not following their corporate coupon policy.

The new Green Advantage Buyer coupon book is available. You can find this coupon book at the Publix customer service desk, just ask for it or look for it in the carousel near the doors. Make sure you ask for any additional coupons they may have. We have seen stacks of tear pads along with a basket of coupons under the customer service desk. There is a limit of one per visit. Also ask for any additional coupon books they may have behind the counter.

If you are shopping in Florida just “take what you need, be sure to leave some for me“!
