If you missed the post about the Pharmacy Game here it is:
How do you play the Pharmacy Game and where can I find pharmacy coupons.
The Pharmacy Game is where you take one prescription (use more than one is for the organized) and transfer it from store to store and get store gift cards for the transfer. Here are the current local status of these pharmacy gift card coupons:
Rite Aid - Have not seen one this year (use to be links to print).
Walgreen’s – Years since we have seen one, we have only gotten one through the mail never in the circular.
Winn-Dixie - We see one of these about once a quarter in their circular.
Food World /Bruno’s – We have never have seen one from these stores.
WalmartNEW
Target - We see one of these about once a quarter in their circular, you need to buy a paper to get one. The Daphne store will not have one on hand to give you if it has this coupon.
As you can see your best bet is Winn-Dixie or Target. When you find one of these coupons make sure you get extra copies for that week that you can use at CVS and Publix. CVS and Publix will take all pharmacy competitor coupons. This means you can use the coupon at the original store and take another prescription to CVS or Publix that week.
The Pharmacy Game only works if more stores will start issuing more pharmacy coupons from week to week so you can transfer them around each month or every other month. The pharmacist or staff may look at you funny and they probably don’t like us writing about this. They may also require that you only do this every 6 months.
You can also find pharmacy coupons using the following search engine.
Make sure that each pharmacy knows all your current medications.
For those that don’t like to shop at Walmart, you can have the best of both worlds. The Walmart pricing without the hassle of the store. Walmart is starting a Walmart to Go similar to the same as the test markets that Publix has started in other states. The difference is the home delivery.
As rumored ealier this month, Walmart has begun test marketing Walmart To Go, its online grocery delivery service, in San Jose, California. In an effort to compete with the likes of Peapod, Fresh Direct and Amazon Fresh, Walmart To Go is offering aggressive pricing with delivery charges that start at five dollars, reports the New York Times. Products include “fresh produce, meat and seafood, frozen, bakery, baby, over-the-counter pharmacy, household supplies and health and beauty items.”
The prices are impressive. The New York Times found that a 64-ounce carton of Horizon milk was $3.50 on Walmart’s site, versus $3.99 from Peapod and $4.29 on Fresh Direct. Similarly, 16 ounces of celery was only $1.98 at Walmart, with Peapod charging $3.29 and Fresh Direct $3.49. There are trade-offs, though. Customers can’t always choose the number of items for purchase — fruits like oranges and lemons are only available in large bags.
Douglas McIntyre of Daily Finance is wary of the move, warning that it may cost the retailer impulse purchases of other items. “Walmart may pick up a new category of customers with home-delivered groceries. But it risks losing one of its best ways of luring people into its stores to buy things other than groceries,” he says. The New York Times also points out that online delivery is a tough business, citing the high-profile bust of dot-com giant Webvan in 2001, among others.
But don’t count them out. Walmart has size on its side: they’re the biggest grocer in the country, with about 33 percent of the United States market share.

We didn’t have to worry about Target running out of stock or making several trips to buy the rice and band aids. We price matched at the Fairhope Walmart store to the Target ad of $13.99. We asked for two separate transactions for the rice and band aid, with no problems. We used the Target coupon for the band aids. Everything went as smooth as it could. Here is our transaction:
All we paid was $3.19 for everything you see in the photo.
We confirmed that there are only 2 proofs of purchase on the back of the DVD, if we could just figure out how to get another one we could apply for the 3rd $5 rebate.
