With the purchase we made on Sunday we just had to go back and test this again. We had a different cashier and a different CSM. A friend of ours went Sunday night with no problems with the Fairhope Walmart store taking Target coupons, they also take more than one. This does come with a little patience so don’t be in a hurry; the cashier will have to check with management on every coupon (ours did). Their corporate policy is not clear on taking cents off competitor coupons; this is something that we discovered and the management has approved it without a hesitation. You will not have a back up but just ask the cashier to ask a manager and see how it goes. Here is what we did today:

Bell Peppers $1/2 (Price Match to Jimmy Lowes)

Bananas $.39lb (Price Match to Jimmy Lowes)

Celery $.99 (Price Match to Jimmy Lowes)

6 Earthbound Farms Carrots $.94
-$2/2 printable
Final Price: Free plus money maker

6 Purina Beyond One Cat Food $2.57
-Used 6 $2 coupon 8/21 SS
-Used 6 $1 Target’s Printable Grocery Coupons
Final Price: Free plus money maker

6 Whisker Likin’s cat treats $1.07
-Used 6 $1 Target’s Printable Grocery Coupons
Final Price: $.07 each

Final Price: $.34

We did learn that Walmart will not price match green onions because the packaging is different.

This has opened up a lot of possibilities to getting deals if this starts to become the trend at other Walmart stores; especially to those of you who live across the bay. We will keep testing this and let our Fans on Facebook know the status if we run  into problems. Let us know if your Walmart store starts taking competitor coupons.

I live in semmes and our walmart has been doing this for awhile now. They even take publix coupons and with coupons they have been putting in the yellow flyer it makes great deals esp with manufacture coupons.

The walmarts in West Mobile have been taking competitor coupons since late spring. However they do not allow us to stack them. It has been either a manufacturer or a competitor coupon per item. That would be great if they allowed stacking over here!

I asked once at the WEMO Walmart, but they weren’t sure so I haven’t tried it. I’m not sure if something is wrong w/my printer, but my printed Q’s don’t seem to be scanning. Walmart will not key them in if they don’t scan, but Target will. I just shop at Target because I can’t risk wasting all of the stressful time it took to find the items w/two hyper kids. I need them to take them, lol. I guess I just don’t understand the problem. They have security features on them and jail time for fraud is not on my agenda. I guess some dishonest people ruined it. Who knows? That would be awesome if they did take comp. Q’s though!

    Tricia,

Pardon me but what is “WEMO”? Not clear but are you trying to scan Target coupons at Walmart? If not, I am not sure why your coupons are not printing correctly, try the troubleshooting at the sites.

I bought some toilet paper today at the Fairhope Walmart stacking a manufacturing coupon with a $1 off Target coupon. The cashier hesitated at first, but subtracted a $1 as a price match. She told me that I needed to inform the cashier that I had a price match at the beginning of the transaction. This didn’t make sense to me because what the original price would be prior to the $1 off at Target, but rather than question her, I thanked her and went on my merry way!

West Mobile aka WEMO. My mfr. Q’s are not scanning at Walmart. My Target Q’s and mfr. q’s are scanning at Target. At least I know that at Target they will manually enter any printed Q. and Walmart will not manually enter a printed Q. Walmart’s policy makes no sense not to manually enter a printed Q. They have security features that you can tell if they are legit. They can also be traced back to you so if you did commit fraud then you would get in trouble.

    Kimberley,

Maybe some Walmart cashiers will comment, but I believe they don’t scan the item but manually enter the price after the Target coupon? I believe this is the reason they want to know up front so they don’t have to take the item off after they have scanned it?

I have to say I am relieved that you were able to do this, was starting to thing that myself and my friend were the only ones. :-D LOL

    Tricia,

Troubleshooting at sites is not going to help you if your printed coupons are scanning at Target but not Walmart. This is just a shot in the dark but there are two codes on most coupons that you scan to get the register to read it, sometimes cashiers have to cover up one code for it to scan. Wonder if you have been going to new cashiers? Another thought do you have the draft setting too low on your printer?
