We had mentioned earlier this week on Facebook that Emily Thrift Store in Fairhope is having a bag sale.  Pay $5 for all the clothes you can fit in a paper bag, if the bag is over the top you pay $6.

We drove by this morning and the bag sale is still going on, so we stopped in to see what we could find. Along with the bag sale, everything in the store is 1/2 off.

The kitchen you see above was marked $5. We couldn’t walk out of the store paying $2.50 for this so we paid full price. We should have paid more, we know.

That is not the best part, as we were talking to some people in the store a lady asked us if we were interested in another kitchen set. Of course! She said she had one at her home that her kids were not using and that we were welcomed to have. We offered her money for it but she wouldn’t take it. We told her she should sell it at the consignment store but she said she just didn’t have the time. So we got the following kitchen set for free.

We are not angels and not perfect in any means. But, we are a strong believer in if you do good things, good things will happen to you. What goes around comes around and in this case it was a lot faster than we ever expected.

If you get anything out of Frugal Fairhope we hope that it is not just to get the best deals but to give back to your community. The smallest thing could mean a lot to one person.

A “happy” (gift) as my 99 year old great grandmother Mamo use to put it. She loved getting “happys”. She was such a caring person that she wanted to re-gift the “happy” and give it back to the original person or to someone new. It was almost like she wanted to share the happiness with everyone.

Today we received our happy from a wonderful stranger. Thank You!

We will not sell these kitchen sets, they are too precious to us to make money from them. Once we are finished with them, we will give them away so that others will enjoy.
