Save Money on Textbooks

Last semester we saved over 70% of our textbooks cost by using this site. Our biggest text book cost saving tip is to rent your books. The cost of rental not only was significantly less than what we would have paid for a book but the shipping to us and from us was FREE! It has been our experience that even if you buy a used book, chances are you will not be able to sell it at the end of the semester. The difference between buying and selling at the end of the year was more than the renting the book and we were not stuck with a textbook to clutter our shelves. If you decide to rent your textbooks, save yourself some time and save the original packaging for the book; that way you don’t have to search for a box, just print the free shipping label (they remind you by email), tape to the package and drop the package off at a local UPS store/drop off site.

We have heard that some of our readers have saved money on college textbooks using sites like AbeBooks and Chegg which are fantastic sites that are ALL pulled by CampusBooks. CampusBooks pulls the prices from these sites and others around the internet, they even pull Barnes & Noble and Amazon pricing to give you the best price for your individual book (new, used, or rented).

Do a search and see how much money you can save.

We found ISBN 9780495557920 for $101 (used) on Amazon. Not a bad price considering this book is over $150 at a book store. There are additional discounts with the use of SWAGBUCKS and MyPointsbut that just wasn’t good enough for us so in Frugal Fairhope Style the deal gets better.

Using CampusBooks we found this for $46.45 (rented for 125 days) or $56.97 (purchased)!

You can buy, sell or rent your textbooks on CampusBooks, they even offer coupons for additional discounts on the already fantastic prices.
