We don’t normally shop this way…but it is Walmart

Thanks Reader J… for sending us your receipt.  Like us Reader J… does not like getting cash out of the register “but it is Walmart”. :-D   If this is a shock to you (especially if you are an employee of Walmart) please take the time to read and print (for your binder) their coupon policy. There is a lot of confusion over this but this part of the policy is very clear:

If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.

Can not even begin to tell you how many conversations we have had with employees of Walmart that do not know their own coupon policy. We had one today and could not convince the “ex CSM” that Walmart would give you cash out of the drawer, even with black and white proof.

Here is what Reader J… purchased:

8 Schick Disposable Razors $1.97 each
-Used 4 $6/2 printable (previously available)

4 Scrubbing Bubbles Step & Spray $3.97 each
-Used 4 $4 printable (previously available)

2 Bananas $.59

They paid Reader J…$5.43

Awesome!

Loose the battle but win the war. Today’s purchase took the CSM to visit the register 3 times during today’s transaction.  The cashier was really nice but learned what a Publix coupons looks like and that overage is OK. This purchase is going to take some research on our part. The aisle stated $2.59 for the cereal but it rang up as $3.68. We will be writing to Walmart customer service this afternoon to get an idea of how this works.

Fiber One 80 Calories Cereal $3.68
-$1 Tear Pad coupon from Fairhope Publix store (available this morning)
-$2 Publix coupon from circular or Publix printable coupon
Final Price: $.68

Of course we all should know about the Scrubbing Bubbles One Step product deals for $3.97 (will ring up at $9.97), but did you know that if you shop at the Fairhope store you can use the $4 manufacture coupon and the $1 Publix One Stop One Store coupon to get $1.03 overage?

Why is Wal Mart accepting a Publix coupon? I am confused?

    TeriB,

We have had several discussions about this here and on our Facebook Fan page. The Fairhope Walmart store has started taking competitor coupons including but not limited to Target and Publix.

Walmart in Royal Palm Beach, Florida WOULD NOT honor the sale price of the One Step Kit and told me it was for a “limited edition” item. I pointed out that the item I had was the same as the one pictured and pointed out all the details but management refused!
